Visang announced on the 31st that it hosted education administrators from the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD), U.S., at its headquarters in Gwacheon on the 28th.

The visit was part of the “2025 U.S. Education Administrators Korea Training Program” organized by the Foundation for Korean Language& Culture. The program invites principals and superintendents from U.S. K–12 schools to Korea with the aim of encouraging the adoption of Korean language classes in American public schools.

During the event, Visang showcased its integrated Korean education platform ‘master k,’ generative AI-based conversation solution ‘AI speak 2.0’,’ interactive Korean language learning tool ‘Klass,’ and global learning platform AllviA CL (ACL). Participants particularly focused on ‘AI speak 2.0,’ a solution that allows students to learn Korean as if conversing with a native speaker.

Ms. Unis Choi, Korean Dual Language Teacher Specialist at GUSD, said, “AI speak 2.0 seems like a helpful tool for students whose Korean learning opportunities become limited after entering high school, allowing them to continue learning without being constrained by educational settings.”

In GUSD’s dual-language immersion program, students take 50% of their class time in Korean during elementary and middle school. However, in high school, Korean classes are reduced to one hour per day, making it challenging to maintain and improve language proficiency.

According to data from Korea’s Ministry of Education, the number of K–12 schools in the U.S. offering Korean language classes reached 219 last year, increasing 28% from 2020. Los Angeles, where Glendale is located, had 82 of those schools which is the highest number in the country.

Kelly King, Assistant Superintendent Educational Services of GUSD, stated, “Interest in studying abroad in Korea and demand for Korean language education are growing in the U.S. In particular, more students are preparing for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) to enter Korean universities. Visang’s Korean education platform and AI solutions not only support effective preparation for TOPIK but also meet practical needs in school settings. We plan to introduce Visang’s outstanding EdTech products to our local teachers and explore potential avenues for collaboration.”

Visang made a full-fledged entry into the U.S. market in 2023 by signing a major export agreement for ‘master k’ with the Korean Education Center in Los Angeles. The company has since continued to expand its reach by exporting ‘master k’ to countries including Nepal and Japan. Moving forward, Visang plans to strengthen discussions with the U.S. education sector to broaden the foundation of Korean language education globally.
